Job description

Position Overview: As a GLC Cluster Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing operations and driving sales activities across multiple Growth and Logics Centers (GLC) within your assigned cluster. Your role will involve strategic planning, team leadership, and ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of operations of the GLCs and the sales processes within the rural catchment of the GLC in alignment with organizational goals.

(the cluster is at a sub-district level and would cover close to 250-300 villages, and some of the smaller towns within the catchment area)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cluster Operations Management:
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of multiple centers within the cluster.
  • Implement standardized operational processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Work towards achieving operational excellence in accordance with company standards.
  1. Sales Leadership:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for the cluster
  • Engage with the customers and the retailers to educate them on the benefits of Shunya and helping them self-order using the Shunya mobile apps.
  • Lead and motivate the teams at each center to meet individual and collective sales goals.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  1. Team Development:
  • Recruit, train, and develop high-performing teams at each center.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture within the cluster.
  1. Market Expansion:
  • Identify opportunities for market expansion and growth within the assigned cluster.
  • Conduct market research to understand local animal husbandry, dairy, agricultural needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to implement targeted promotional activities.
  1. Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including farmers, dairy farm owners, local communities, and government authorities.
  • Address customer queries, concerns, and feedback promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct training to educate the farmers of the benefits of Shunya.
  1. Performance Metrics Tracking:
  • Implement performance metrics and KPIs to measure the success of operations and sales activities.
  • Regularly analyze and report on key performance indicators to the regional leadership.
  1. Inventory Management:
  • Ensure optimal inventory levels at each center to meet customer demand.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize losses and waste.
  1. Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay informed about and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations in the agricultural sector.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and local authorities as needed.
  1. Financial Accountability:
  • Work closely with the finance department to manage budgets and expenses within the assigned cluster.
  • Contribute to the development of annual budgets for operations and sales.
  1. Technology Integration:– Utilize technology and Shunya’s unique Agritech tools to streamline operations and enhance sales processes. – Implement and train teams on relevant technological solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales and operations management, preferably in the agritech or rural sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent understanding of rural markets and agricultural practices in India.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and challenging rural environment.
  • Knowledge of local languages and cultures within the assigned cluster is an advantage.

This role will evolve over time as Shunya (a start-up venture) expands its footprint and services. The role would involve extensive travel into rural India.
